Pramathanath Chaudhuri (7 August – 2 September ), known as Pramatha Chaudhuri, alias Birbal, was an Indian writer and a figure in Bengali literature.
Pramatha Chaudhuri was one of the influential figures of Bengali literature and language who lived during the period 7 August — 2 September This writer was known as a poet, storywriter and essayist. He did both fiction and non-fiction work. Sonnet Panchasat , published in was his collection of sonnets while Padacharan and Sonnet Panchasat and Anyanya Kabita are his other works belonging to poetry genre.

Pramatha Chaudhuri was born in Jessore, British India in He was born into a famous zamindar family of Haripur Village in Pabna. Till the age of 5, he lived in Haripur followed by the next 10 years in Krishnanagar of Nadia. He also studied at six different schools.
